The Audio-Technica VM530EN sits at the top of the VM500/600/700 Series lineup, pairing a nude-mounted 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus directly to the cantilever tip rather than bonding it to a separate shank. This lowers effective tip mass, letting the stylus follow groove modulations more accurately for improved high-frequency extraction and lower tracing distortion.
The cartridge uses an aluminum cantilever and a low-resonance polymer body with a center shield plate to reduce crosstalk between channels, along with a paratoroidal coil design for improved efficiency. Threaded inserts allow simple two-screw mounting to any standard 1/2" headshell.
