The Audio-Technica VM540ML/H combines the platform's most resolving cartridge with a factory-mounted headshell, giving you the VM540ML's MicroLinear stylus without the hassle of manual cartridge alignment. Its nude-mounted 2.2 x 0.12 mil MicroLinear tip is shaped to more closely match the curvature of the cutting stylus used to master records, maintaining contact with a longer section of the groove wall for lower distortion and more accurate high-frequency reproduction.
Underneath the headshell, the cartridge uses a tapered aluminum cantilever and a low-resonance polymer body with a center shield plate to reduce crosstalk between channels, along with a paratoroidal coil design for improved efficiency.
Ideal for listeners who want the VM500/600/700 Series' best performance in a plug-and-play package, the VM540ML/H drops straight onto any standard 1/2" mount tonearm and delivers the platform's widest frequency response and tightest channel separation with minimal setup effort.
