The Audio-Technica AT-OC9ML/II is a dual moving coil cartridge built around a MicroLinear nude-mounted stylus on a gold-plated solid boron cantilever, one of the stiffest, lowest-mass cantilever materials available, letting the stylus track the groove with minimal resonance and outstanding transient response.
Its dual moving coil generator produces a low 0.4 mV output that rewards a proper MC phono stage or step-up transformer with a wide 15-50,000 Hz frequency response and 31 dB channel separation, resolving fine inner-groove detail that budget moving magnet designs can miss.
