The Rega Planar 1 Plus Eco Deck is a plug-and-play belt-drive turntable with a high-quality MM phono stage built in, so it connects straight to powered speakers, an amplifier or any receiver with a standard line input. It is part of Rega's Green Grade programme: the plinth may carry minor cosmetic marks, scratches or an obsolete finish and wears an Eco badge in place of the silk-screened logo, while every working part is A-grade, tested to Rega's usual standards and performs exactly like a standard Planar 1 Plus.
Hand-assembled in England, it uses the RB110 tonearm with Rega's ultra-low-friction, zero-play bearings and a factory-fitted Rega Carbon moving magnet cartridge. Tracking force and bias are pre-set at the factory, so setup takes minutes. A 24V low-noise synchronous motor with an aluminium pulley and EBLT drive belt turns a 23 mm high-mass phenolic resin platter, whose flywheel effect keeps speed steady. The built-in phono stage is based on Rega's award-winning Fono Mini.
It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records, with speed changed by hand at the pulley. The plinth is glass-laminated thermoset with improved isolation feet and an on/off switch on the underside. Bought at Blacknote, the Planar 1 Plus Eco Deck comes with Rega's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
