The Rega Planar 3 RS Edition is a 2025 special edition of the iconic Planar 3, upgraded with a brushed dark aluminium HPL-laminated plinth, Rega's Neo PSU Mk2 turntable power supply included in the box, and the Nd5 moving magnet cartridge factory-fitted. It is designed for listeners who want the Planar 3's famous musicality with the speed stability and refinement of Rega's upgrade path already built in.
The hand-assembled RB330 tonearm uses Rega's ultra-low-friction bearings and carries the Nd5 cartridge, with its ultra-high-powered neodymium magnet and perfect elliptical nude diamond stylus. A 24V low-noise motor, hand-tuned to the Neo PSU Mk2 and fitted with a CNC-machined custom pulley and Reference EBLT drive belt, turns a 12 mm polished Optiwhite float-glass platter. Rega's Double Brace technology links the tonearm mounting and main bearing for a rigid, stable structure.
The Neo PSU Mk2 provides electronic speed switching between 33-1/3 and 45 RPM, fine speed adjustment in 0.01 RPM steps and an anti-vibration circuit. The turntable has no built-in phono stage, so connect it to an amplifier with an MM phono input or a separate phono stage. A smoked dust cover is supplied as standard. Bought at Blacknote, the Planar 3 RS Edition comes with Rega's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
