The Rega Planar 6 Nd5 MM is Rega's high-performance Planar 6 turntable with the Nd5 moving magnet cartridge factory-fitted. The Nd5 uses Rega's ultra-high-powered neodymium magnet, miniaturised parallel coils and a perfect elliptical nude diamond stylus on an aluminium cantilever, giving a wide soundstage, excellent tracking and plenty of detail with simple MM convenience.
At its heart is an ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 polyurethane foam-core plinth, reinforced with Rega's Double Brace technology to link the tonearm mounting and main bearing, so energy is kept away from the stylus. The hand-assembled RB330 tonearm, with ultra-low-friction bearings and a stainless steel balance weight, sits beside a dual-layer smoked/clear float-glass platter driven by a 24V low-noise motor and Rega's Reference EBLT drive belt.
The custom-matched Rega Neo PSU is included, giving push-button switching between 33-1/3 and 45 RPM and fine speed adjustment for exceptional speed stability. The Planar 6 has no built-in phono stage, so connect it to an amplifier with an MM phono input or a separate phono stage. It is available in matt Polaris grey or matt white. Bought at Blacknote, the Planar 6 Nd5 MM comes with Rega's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
