The Rega Planar 6 RS Edition Nd9 MM is a special edition of the Planar 6, upgraded with Rega's RB880 tonearm, a metal-skinned brushed plinth, twin drive belts and the flagship Nd9 moving magnet cartridge factory-fitted. It is built for listeners who want near-reference performance from a moving magnet setup.
The ultra-lightweight Tancast 8 foam-core plinth is finished in HP laminate with a brushed metal skin and reinforced with Rega's Double Brace technology. A 24V synchronous low-noise precision motor drives a CNC-machined twin-drive pulley and twin Reference EBLT belts, turning a 16 mm dual-layer Optiwhite clear float-glass platter. The hand-assembled RB880 tonearm, with a custom stainless steel balance weight, carries the Nd9, which pairs Rega's ultra-high-powered neodymium magnet with a fine line nude diamond stylus on a boron cantilever.
The custom-matched Neo PSU Mk2 is included for electronic switching between 33-1/3 and 45 RPM with fine speed adjustment. The turntable has no built-in phono stage, so connect it to an amplifier with an MM phono input or a separate phono stage. A smoked dust cover is supplied as standard. Bought at Blacknote, the Planar 6 RS Edition comes with Rega's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
