The Audio-Technica AT-VM95SH is fitted with a Shibata stylus — a line-contact profile developed for quadraphonic recordings that traces a much larger portion of the groove wall than elliptical or MicroLinear designs. The result is extended high-frequency response, lower distortion, and reduced record wear over repeated plays, making it a favorite for critical listening and record preservation alike.
Like the rest of the VM95 Series, the AT-VM95SH uses a dual moving magnet design, aluminum cantilever, and low-resonance polymer cartridge body with threaded inserts for simple two-screw mounting to any standard 1/2" headshell. It's fully compatible with the interchangeable AT-VMN95 replacement stylus line, so the cartridge body can stay in service even as the stylus is swapped or upgraded down the line.
Ideal for use with universal 1/2" mount tonearms.
