Audio-Technica VM740ML

The Audio-Technica VM740ML sits at the top of the VM700 Series, built around a die-cast aluminum alloy body that holds tighter dimensional tolerances than the polymer bodies used lower in the VM500/600/700 lineup, reducing unwanted resonance and keeping the generator more precisely aligned. Its nude-mounted 2.2 x 0.12 mil MicroLine stylus is shaped to more closely match the cutting stylus used to master records, tracking a longer section of the groove wall for lower distortion and more extended, accurate high-frequency reproduction.

A tapered aluminum cantilever and a low-mass, high-rigidity design combine with a paratoroidal coil to deliver a wide 20-27,000 Hz frequency response and the platform's tightest channel separation, while dual magnets and a center shield plate keep crosstalk under control.

As the series flagship, the VM740ML ships with a premium storage case in addition to the usual mounting hardware and stylus guard, and drops onto any standard 1/2" mount tonearm for listeners who want the VM700 Series' best possible performance.
