The Audio-Technica AT-LP5X (Black) is a fully manual direct-drive turntable designed for the listener who wants audiophile performance with hands-on control. A high-torque DC motor drives the anti-resonance, die-cast aluminium platter, topped with a 5 mm rubber damping mat to keep unwanted resonance out of the signal chain.
It plays 33-1/3, 45 and 78 RPM records and comes fitted with an AT-VM95E (Black) dual moving magnet cartridge pre-mounted on a removable AT-HS6 headshell, upgradeable to any VM95 Series stylus. The built-in switchable phono/line pre-amplifier supports both MM (36 dB) and MC (56 dB) cartridges with RIAA equalization, so you can connect the deck to powered speakers, an amplifier or a receiver, while the USB output makes digitising your records straightforward.
The J-shaped tonearm with a hydraulically damped lift and adjustable anti-skate control delivers precise, stable tracking. Bought at Blacknote, the AT-LP5X ships with a free AT-VM95EBK cartridge and Audio-Technica India's official warranty.
