Rega Planar 3 Nd3 MM

The Rega Planar 3 Nd3 MM is Rega's iconic, multi-award-winning Planar 3 turntable with the Nd3 moving magnet cartridge factory-fitted. The Nd3 is believed to be the first moving magnet cartridge to use an ultra-high-powered neodymium (N55) magnet, with a bonded elliptical diamond stylus on an aluminium cantilever and a rigid glass-filled PPS body, delivering much of the energy of moving coil designs with plug-and-play MM convenience. The factory-fitted package costs less than buying the deck and cartridge separately.

Rega's RB330 tonearm is hand-assembled with patented ultra-low-friction bearings in a stiff, lightweight housing, with a new bias adjustment, an integrated arm clip and Rega's custom aluminium arm tube. It is mounted on a lightweight acrylic-laminated plinth reinforced with Rega's Double Brace technology, which ties the tonearm mounting and main bearing together for a stable, rigid structure. A 24V low-noise, low-vibration motor with the advanced EBLT drive belt turns a 12 mm polished Optiwhite float-glass platter.

It plays 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records, with speed changed by hand at the pulley, or electronically with the optional Rega Neo PSU (sold separately), which connects via the mini DIN socket. The Planar 3 has no built-in phono stage, so connect it to an amplifier with a MM phono input or a separate phono stage. It comes with a clear dust cover in high-gloss black, white or red, or light oak effect. Bought at Blacknote, the Planar 3 Nd3 MM comes with Rega's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
